Quebecer artist Laurence Hervieux-Gosselin makes us explore a strange world taking place in the countryside and the suburbs. Her photographic works provoke our imagination and offer us to contemplate dark poetry of everyday life; details, locations, lights «that we too often tend to take for granted», she says.
Almost surreal, while rooted within familiar and almost banal landscapes, the places she immortalizes question the fine line between reality and fiction.
With agility, her work succeeds to confuse the spectators, to make them fill the empty spaces of the story, even if it stays indecipherable. Her photographs are memorable: as troubling as aesthetic.
