The Shortlisted of the Sony World Photography 2019

While the final palmares of Sony Awards World Photography will be announced in April, The World Photography Organisation already unveiled the competition’s shortlist. This was a record year for the award, with 326.000 photographs sent from 192 countries. Here, we present some of the best shoots from the Youth and Open categories. Once more, the selection shows the vitality of the contemporary photographic scene around the world, particularly thanks to the Landscape and Portrait categories. The new Creative session brings a fresh approach, highlighting new techniques and visions. According to the Head of Saatchi Saatchi & Prestigious, Rebecca McClelland,
“The award represents a very democratic appreciation of photography, from tradition to emergent trends across all genres from nature to fashion. The competition allows the broadest demographic to have a platform.”
