An apparent melancholy marks the sensual portraits of the Montreal self-taught photographer Jeremy Dionn. The cinematographic aesthetic of his works also adds to the sense of intimacy characterizing his approach. «I think my interest in portraiture is largely due to the human aspect of it. I have always been fascinated by psychology, and I am lucky to be able to learn more through portraits. Nothing satisfies me as much as immortalizing genuine human emotions», he says.
The artist mostly works with analog cameras and black and white for a dramatic result. «I inherited my equipment from my grandfather and my father. I think film photography is an incredible medium that will never go out of style and keeps that fraction of a second alive in space.» Follow his projects on Instagram.
